Want to get involved in wheelchair rugby in SA? Contact us today!
The South Australian wheelchair rugby program is managed by a dedicated team of local volunteers through Wheelchair Rugby SA.
Many our SA-based athletes have maintained a strong international presence in the sport since its inception, including on the world stage as Australian Steelers at the Paralympics.
We continue to support and develop athletes at all levels of the sport, from grassroots and social game days to the more competitive national and elite-level competitions.
Although most SA athletes have a disability, we do often have full able-bodied athletes get involved in our local social competition, including serving and ex-serving Defence Force members from the Invictus Pathways Program.
Where can I play?
Everyone is welcome! There are options for everyone to play wheelchair rugby, whether it’s your first time and want to play socially or you want to represent Australia.
More details about our social programs can be found below. RSVPs are encouraged to ensure that enough equipment is available at each session. Registration is free, so get in touch with the team to get started on your wheelchair rugby journey.

We are regularly seeking new volunteers, referees, officials and sponsors to help our program run smoothly. Wheelchair rugby in South Australia would not be able to develop and succeed without their invaluable help. Get in touch if you are interested in learning how you can support us.
