Wheelchair Rugby Queensland is the home of all thing wheelchair rugby in the State, committed to providing comprehensive support and opportunities for athletes. Wheelchair rugby has a strong foundation in Queensland with two clubs competing in the National League and two State teams competing in the National Championship.
The Queensland program is managed by a local team of passionate athletes and coaching staff. Many of our QLD-based athletes have gone on to proudly play represent Australia as part of the Steelers.
As the 2032 Paralympics in Brisbane approaches, Wheelchair Rugby Queensland is committed to creating an inclusive, accessible and competitive sporting landscape for all.

Where can I play?
There are multiple sessions that run in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast weekly.
The main Queensland hub is at the Sleeman Sports Complex in Brisbane, catering for junior sessions, social game nights and high-performance squad training.
All sessions run in line with the school term, with breaks during schools holidays or major events.

This program is delivered by Suncoast Spinners.
Junior Wheelchair Rugby
When: Wednesday nights (4pm - 5pm)
Where: Chandler Arena at Sleeman Sports Complex (1 Sleeman Road, Chandler QLD 4155)
Who: Junior players from 10 - 15 years old
Juniors and Fundamentals Sessions
When: STARTING 2026 Tuesday nights (4pm - 5pm)
Where: Gold Coast Recreation Precinct (1525 Gold Coast Hwy, Palm Beach QLD 4221)
Who: Junior players from 10 - 15 years old, new players and those wanting to understand the fundamentals of wheelchair rugby
