Chris was appointed as the inaugural CEO of Wheelchair Rugby Australia in 2022, having demonstrated his capability as a sports administrator with Disability Sports Australia. Prior to this, Chris was responsible for the delivery of a number of iconic Australian sporting events before first becoming involved with wheelchair rugby as the Marketing and Partnerships Manager for the GIO IWRF 2018 Wheelchair Rugby World Championship and then as the General Manager - Wheelchair Rugby.
Chris has high ambitions for wheelchair rugby in Australia, and is passionate about generating it’s growth and sustainability to ensure its long-term success both domestically and internationally.

Kelsey is passionate and experienced sports and events professional with extensive background in strategic operations, community engagement and program delivery. As former General Manager – Sport at Disability Sports Australia, she witnessed first-hand the transformative nature of sport for people with disability, while leading programs to elevate awareness and participation.
Now supporting strategic and operational direction at Wheelchair Rugby Australia, Kelsey brings efficiency and a hand-on approach to growing the wheelchair rugby community – welcoming new players, officials and fans into the fold.
Beyond the office, if Kelsey is not watching her beloved Rabbitohs, you’ll likely find her lost is a good book or exploring a new creative hobby.
Jayme Saggers

Jayme is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Human Resources and Sport Management—a combination that perfectly aligns with her passion for both people and sport. Outside of her studies, she is actively involved in playing AFL and netball, while also enjoying watching a wide variety of sports.
Jayme is excited to begin her journey with Wheelchair Rugby Australia, where she looks forward to making a meaningful impact and supporting the growth of the sport.

Paul Kiteley
Director - High Performance
A highly respected sports administrator with extensive experience in facilitating and supporting athletes, coaches and support staff to reach their full potential. Paul has undertaken several leadership roles in the High- Performance Sport Industry. He has worked closely with some of Australia’s most outstanding Olympic and Paralympic athletes.
His experience includes the role of Performance Services Manager, at the Victorian Institute of Sport – managing the vital athlete support areas of Sports Medicine, Physiotherapy, Sport Science, Nutrition, Psychology and Athlete Welfare and Engagement. Paul was a member of the Leadership team at the VIS for four Olympic/Paralympic cycles and contributed to the VIS delivery of world class innovative programs in supporting athletes to achieve excellence in sport and in life. Over the past 8 years he has been with Paralympics Australia. His current role is the National Performance Director for the Australian Wheelchair Rugby Program. This highly respected and very successful program has recently transitioned to be fully integrated under the management of Wheelchair Rugby Australia.
He has also been involved in management roles at multiple Summer and Winter Paralympic Games. This includes his role as Section Manager/Team Leader with the Australian Steelers first ever Gold medal win at the London Paralympics in 2012.

National Development Coach
Jasons International playing career spanned 12 years with the Australian Steelers and included 3 Paralympic Games (2 Gold) and 3 World Championships (1 Gold, 2 Silver)
At the conclusion of the Tokyo Paralympic Games Jason took on the role as the National Development Coach where he was able to draw on his vast experience and knowledge of the game to help guide the next generation of athletes on their wheelchair rugby journey.
As well as coaching the National Development team Jason has also been the Assistant Coach of the Steelers since 2022 and was part of the 2022 Worlds Gold medal & 2024 Paris Bronze medal Teams.
Brad Dubberley
National Head Coach
Brad Dubberley is a renowned figure in wheelchair rugby, serving as the head coach of the Australian Steelers. A Paralympian himself, Brad has dedicated his life to the sport, transitioning from a highly successful playing career to coaching and leadership. Known for his tactical acumen and unwavering commitment to excellence, he has played a pivotal role in establishing Australia as a dominant force on the global stage. Under his guidance, the Steelers have achieved remarkable success, including multiple Paralympic and World Championship medals, cementing their reputation as one of the world’s premier wheelchair rugby teams.
Brad’s approach to coaching is deeply rooted in his firsthand experience as an athlete, emphasizing player empowerment, innovation, and a relentless pursuit of improvement. Beyond the technical and strategic aspects of the game, he is highly regarded for fostering a strong team culture and building resilient, cohesive squads. Brad’s leadership extends beyond the court; he is a passionate advocate for Paralympic sports and a mentor to emerging talents within the wheelchair rugby community. His influence has left an indelible mark not only on Australian wheelchair rugby but also on the international landscape of adaptive sports.

Greg Smith
Strength & Conditionin Lead
Greg began his career as a soldier in the Australian Army, serving as an armoured tank driver, and physical training instructor. After a car accident left him with incomplete quadriplegia, Greg transitioned to a celebrated 35-year career in high-performance and Paralympic sports. Competing in five Paralympic Games, across both wheelchair racing and wheelchair rugby, he earned 4 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze medals.
Retiring from competition in 2012, Greg continued his physical training education, achieving a Level 2 certification with the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association. He has been the national program strength and conditioning head coach, and national lead coach, since 2012, further solidifying his impact on the past success and future development of the wheelchair rugby national programs elite sports performance.
Lewis Quinn
Head of Analysis
Lewis is a driven sport scientist who has worked across a diverse range of sports, including AFL, Shooting, Para Table Tennis and Wheelchair Rugby, developing expertise in performance analysis and a deep understanding of high-performance environments. Some of Lewis’ career highlights include contributing to the Steelers’ 2022 World Championship gold medal, 2023 International Wheelchair Rugby Cup gold medal and 2024 Paris Paralympic bronze medal.
As a self-confessed sports nut, with a passion for the tactical and strategic elements of sport, Lewis thrives on leveraging data to uncover competitive advantages and elevate performance. His goal is to optimise on-court results, while advancing the broader development of wheelchair rugby. Outside of Wheelchair Rugby, Lewis spends his time immersed in sport, playing golf, training his lively Australian Shepherd or tackling DIY home renovations.

Sam is a dedicated sports administrator with a passion for athlete development and pathways in para-sport, particularly wheelchair rugby. As the General Manager of Pathways & Talent, Sam adopts an athlete-first approach, focusing on identifying, developing, and supporting athletes across the country to achieve high-performance outcomes.
With expertise in strategic thinking, Sam excels at applying frameworks and core principles to bring clarity and drive success within the National High Performance and Development Program's multidisciplinary environment.
Beyond work, Sam enjoys a balanced lifestyle, including traveling, coaching AFL, spending time with his dogs, and exploring nature.

Ben Newton
QLD State Manager & Head Coach
Ben has been Head Coach of the QLD high performance program since 2022 and in 2025 also became State Manager, where he is now responsible for all levels of wheelchair rugby in the state. Prior to his coaching career, Ben worked for Queensland Rail in technical and strategic accessibility roles for a decade.
A former Steeler who was a member of Australia’s first ever gold-medal winning team at the London 2012 Paralympic Games, Ben has been awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for services to sport, holds a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), and is a graduate of the QAS Gen2032 Coaching Program. Ben’s coaching philosophy is underpinned by meaningful collaboration with his support team, colleagues and athletes, and prioritises building genuine connection and trust to foster growth.
