In Division 1, the day opened with a thriller between Bond University and Great Britain 2. Bond’s high and low pointers combined sharp strategy with relentless teamwork, keeping the score locked right through to the final quarter. But in the closing minutes, GB2 found another gear, edging ahead to seal the win in a nail-biting finish.

The University of Queensland faced Sydney University in a bruising, high-octane clash packed with big hits and end-to-end action. The Red Heavies rounded out their day against a combined GB1/GB2 line-up, showing grit and determination to stay close with the British national squad, an impressive effort given UQ’s limited line-up rotations.

In Division 2, Melbourne University continued their unbeaten run, taking strong wins over both Box Hill and the Barbarians to cement their dominance.

Adding to the excitement, the afternoon saw a special showcase from our junior wheelchair rugby athletes, taking to the court together for the first time since the Wheelchair Rugby World Challenge in Adelaide earlier this year. Their excitement and energy were a highlight for the crowd, offering a glimpse of the sport’s bright future.
