WRWC day two recap: The Steelers and the Wheelblacks go head-to-head to close out the day

If you thought day one was impressive, the excitement of day two was beyond belief.

There was energy across the whole day: our Officeworks School Program was in action again, the stands were packed for both the Steelers games, and the cheers and chants were almost deafening. Today also saw our National Championship Division 2 teams play their first matches on across the day on second court.

The highlight of the day was undeniably the Steelers going head-to-head against our cousins from across the ditch – the New Zealand Wheelblacks – in day two’s final match. After a nail-biting morning game against the Netherlands, which saw Australia’s first loss of the competition, Chris Bond captained the Steelers team beautifully into a win against the Wheelblacks to close out the day.

Read on for the day’s match scores across the World Challenge and the National Championship Division 1 and 2 fixtures. All photos by Joep Buijs Photography.
