WRWC day three recap: The Australian Steelers are through to the final!

In a thrilling win over Brazil to close out the day, the Australian Steelers are headed to the gold medal match tomorrow, going head-to-head against the Netherlands.

Day three of the 2025 Santos Wheelchair Rugby World Challenge saw high-octane crowds across the whole day, chanting and cheering for their teams to create an infectious and electric energy at Netball SA Stadium. Our Steelers athletes left nothing in the tank as the Brazilians put on a spectacular display of offense and defensive strategy that pushed the athletes on both sides to their limits in an absolutely stunning game of wheelchair rugby. Ultimately, it was our Aussie home team who took home the win.

Today the momentous Juniors Division also launched, which saw future wheelchair rugby stars take to the court against one another for the first time in Australian history. The competition was fierce across Division 1 and 2 matches, with New South Wales dominating the court in their games and the South Australia Sharks putting on an incredible display in front of the Adelaide home crowd.
